Northwood Sixth Form
Northwood School has a small, but expanding Sixth Form. This means that students integrate with each other very well and staff have time to get to know the students’ strengths and weaknesses in detail. With outstanding facilities in our sixth form state-of-the-art space we can offer an outstanding learning environment for students. Time is taken to place students on suitable courses so they can flourish and our excellent results are a reflection of this.
Welcome from Head of Sixth Form - Rachel Singer
At Northwood Sixth Form every student is treated as an individual, supported and encouraged to develop and thrive during their time with us. With small class sizes, we can ensure that students get personalised support, attend lessons which are tailored to their needs and receive detailed, regular and thorough feedback from their teachers. Our students often praise the quality of lessons as well as the dedication and commitment of their teachers.
Our students also receive fantastic pastoral support from the sixth form team. Every student completes the Northwood Diploma during year 12 which enables them to explore and develop wider interests and experiences beyond their A Level study. We provide extensive individualised support with UCAS and apprenticeship applications, work experience and we encourage and guide our students to take advantage of a range of phenomenal opportunities such as summer schools, university visits and courses and local lectures, to name just a few.
Our sixth form students are leaders and role models in the school. They work closely with younger students in a myriad of ways: helping out in extra curricular clubs, providing homework support, carrying out prefect duties and even supporting in some lessons.
Each year, I am proud to watch our sixth formers grow in confidence, maturity and in their academic work.
Welcome from Deputy Head of Sixth Form - Kiran Kondal
Northwood 6th form boasts a bespoke Sixth Form Centre which provides our students with an inspiring setting within which they can work independently and collaboratively, honing mastery in each subject. We are proud that our students work together, support one another, and form a close knit community during their time with us.
